NIST Cybersecurity Framework Proceeding.

Oct. 22, 2013 - The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will soon formally announce a 45-day rulemaking on its  Preliminary Cybersecurity Framework (PDF), a proceeding that could result in new regulations for government contractors.  The framework is intended to "help critical infrastructure owners and operators reduce cybersecurity risks in industries such as power generation, transportation and telecommunications."  NIST plans to release the official framework in February 2014, as directed by Executive Order 13636, Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (Feb. 2013). NIST will conduct a 2-day workshop concerning the proposed framework on Nov. 14 & 15, 2013 in North Carolina. For assistance with this proceeding, please email
